The Share the Warmth campaign is about to start distribution to those in need and are facing a shortfall of coats, especially children's coats. The community is being asked to donate gently used or new winter coats, hats, gloves, mittens, boots, and blankets.
War Dogs: Training (KIII Corpus Christi)
Since the earliest times, armies used dogs as messengers and for protection. The U.S. military started using them in World War II. Since then they've been lots of improvements in the training, and lots more that a well-trained dog can do. Our Erik Rosales took a trip up to San Antonio's "Lackland Air Force Base", and gives us a unique look at the Department of Defense Military Working Dog program.
Indian commandos assault besieged building (CTV British Columbia)
Indian security forces have assaulted a besieged Jewish centre in Mumbai where heavily-armed militants are believed to be holed up in, along with about 10 Israeli hostage according to local media reports.

Indian commandos appear to have nearly regained control of two luxury hotels in Mumbai, but a standoff continues at a Jewish centre in the city. At least three more terrorists were killed in the raids.

The Community Foundation has announced an investment of nearly $11,000 to further protect and support the natural environment. Grants were approved to the Finger Lakes Land Trust, the Nature Conservancy of Central and Western New York, and the National Audubon Society. Sangerville man guilty of trespassing with dog (Bangor Daily News)
DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A Sangerville man who was summoned on two counts of criminal trespass in June 2007 for exercising his dog at the Sangerville recreational field was found guilty of both counts Tuesday by a jury in Piscataquis County Superior Court.
